El Dorado is a privately held media company.  Through our affiliates we invest in radio, television, digital and out-of-home media.

We currently own seven radio stations in Victor Valley, California and three radio stations in Yuma, Arizona.  As a company we are committed to serving our listeners, our communities and our advertisers with the best mix of local content, news, music and events.

Over the years we have opportunistically acquired, improved and sold stations nationwide.


El Dorado got its start in 2007 when it purchased eighteen radio stations from Clear Channel Radio (now iHeart Media). The radio stations were in Yuma, Arizona; and in Victor Valley, San Luis Obispo and Santa Maria, California.

Over the years we have been active in the broadcast industry:

  • In 2007 we purchased WGXA (FOX/ABC) in Macon, GA; we sold this station to Sinclair Broadcasting (SBGI) in 2013

  •  In 2010 we took over the operation of radio stations in Honolulu (including KDDD-FM) and Kauai (including KONG-FM); we sold these stations in 2018 and 2019 to Pacific Media Group

  • In 2012 we purchased television stations in Cheyenne, WY and in Laredo, TX; we sold these stations to Gray Television (GTN) in 2014

  •  Beginning in 2013, via Bryson Broadcast Holdings, we purchased television stations in Pocatello, ID; Eureka, CA; Yuma, AZ; Greenville, MS; and Alexandria, LA. We sold these stations in December 2019 to Apollo Investments, which simultaneously purchased television stations from the Cox family and from Northwest Broadcasting; the combined group of stations now operates under the Cox brand

  •  In 2015 we decided to exit San Luis Obispo and Santa Maria, selling our stations multiple buyers, including to American General Media, Lazer Broadcasting and Point Broadcasting

  •  In 2019 we purchased two radio stations in Victor Valley from Entercom Communications (ETM)

Today we own seven radio stations in Victor Valley, California and three radio stations in Yuma, Arizona. As a company we are committed to serving our listeners, our communities and our advertisers with the best mix of local content, news, music and events.

We have no debt and have ample funds available for acquisitions, either in our existing markets or to enter new markets.
